Why Doesn’t My American Eagle Have A Mintmark?

As of 2012, the US Mint does not use mint marks on bullion coins. Proof and Burnished versions of the American Eagle coins do have mint marks. These include a “W” for the West Point Mint, a “P” for the Philadelphia Mint, or an “S” for the San Francisco Mint.
